About the Sugar Association of LondonThe Sugar Association of London was established in 1882 as the Beetroot Sugar Association and changed its name in 1905 when its activities embraced cane sugar. The Association's objectives are to provide: (a) for the proper conduct of the Raw Sugar Trade; (b) support and protection of the interests of Members and the Raw Sugar Trade in general; (c) for the framing of Rules and conditions for contracts for the Raw Sugar Trade; (d) the Rules for landing, weighing, taring, sampling and polarising of Raw Sugar; (e) for the settlement by commercial arbitration, of disputes referred to the Association. (f) for the assessment of contract losses when requested by Members and their insurers. |
